The website is based on the exposition Persecution and Deportation of the Jews in the Netherlands 1940-1945, which was opened in April 2005 in the Dutch Pavilion in Auschwitz. The exposition was commissioned by the Dutch government and was set up in cooperation with the Dutch Auschwitz Committee, the Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sport (VWS), and with the financial assistance from the ministries of VWS, General Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Education, Culture & Science, as well as the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund and the K.F. Hein Fund.
