An agricultural training centre established for taking in German refugees between the ages of 18 and 24 and teaching them an occupation.
In 1934, the Wieringmeer youth work village was established in the Wieringmeer, near the village of Nieuwesluis. The village was recognised as a hakhsharah institution, which enabled the students to emigrate to Palestine after their training. In 1941, the working village was closed by order of the occupying Nazis.
