Between 1938 and 1945, Ravensbrück was a concentration camp, mostly for women. Ravensbrück was located 85 kilometres north-east of Berlin. Women in Ravensbrück often arrived in the camp with their children. Out of the 153,000 prisoners in Ravensbrück more than 90,000 did not survive the camp.
