The Emigrant Literature or Exile Literature was written by German writers who were forced to move to other countries after Hitler's takeover in 1933. Many exiled writers, including many Jews, social democrats, and communists fled to the Netherlands. Two publishers in Amsterdam, Querido and Allert de Lange, began publishing exile literature.
