At the age of 13, Jewish boys celebrate their Bar Mitzva (son of the commandment). From this age onwards, Jewish boys are required to fulfil their full religious obligations. A Bar Mitzva boy must read a part of the Torah (the Jewish Bible) in the synagogue. Similarly, girls become Bat Mitzva (daughter of the commandment) on their 12th birthday.
