This non-Jewish declaration was implemented in the Netherlands by the German occupation forces. By the 26th of October 1940 all civil servants had to sign such a statement. Anyone with one or moreJewish grandparents - specifically, a grandparent who was a member of the Jewish Community - was considered a Jew and was required to submit form B (non-Aryan). Non-Jews had to submit form A (Aryan). The German authorities wanted to use these to make an inventory of who is Jewish and who is not. Shortly after filling in these forms, people with Jewish ancestors were dismissed from their work.
Ordinance 189/1940 determined who was considered a Jew according to the German occupiers.
